My sister's wedding is tomorrow and when I went to try the bridesmaid's dress on, the zipper broke. I brought it to Lulu and she fixed it and I had it the next day! She was absolutely amazing and I wont use another alteration shop again! So sweet and kind too. And one heck of a painter!

Oh the hesitation and angst when you need alterations done to a new clothing item and don't have a go-to seamstress/tailor. I researched so many places and read the reviews carefully. I was prepared to go to the other side of town if need be... Thankfully, Yelp came through as always and sent me to LuLu. Lulu is very hard to reach via phone so I decided to just drop by with fingers crossed. Thankfully she was there and so was her mom. It appears they are a family run business. The store is jam packed with clothing that has been or needs to be altered. Which is a good sign in my opinion, meaning they surely must be good to have so much business. I had a few pair of jeans needing to be hemmed with the original hem and lulu did not disappoint! You can't tell they've been altered at all! Such a master of her trade. If I need anything else altered, lulu will be who I go to in Pittsburgh!

This is the best tailor in Pittsburgh! After receiving the wrong size Shalwar I needed it refitted for a wedding. I searched and searched for a great tailor in the Pittsburgh area and Lulu came highly recommended. When I visited her store it was jammed packed with clothing that was ready for pick up or orders waiting to be seen. I instantly felt my second wave of relief knowing that so many people trust their garments in her hands. Lulu was able to resize my dress in one day! It fit like a glove afterwards. Lulu and her mother (it's a family run business) are so friendly. Lulu will take the time to explain the process to you so you can leave with zero questions. Overall working with her is super easy. Her quotes are very agreeable too. It cost me $40 to resize the dress. Thank you so much Lulu! Some tips I have are to bypass the phone and just visit in person with the garment you need mended. She'll give you a full consultation and quote. If you've never had to have a dress resized here are the steps: 1. You'll put on the garment. 2. The tailor will take your measurements and place markers (pins) where changes need to be made. 3. They will measure the seams to determine how much they can take in or out. 4. You can then discuss with them how loose or tight you want the fit. 5. Take off the garment, discuss the pick up date, and the tailor will give you a quote. That's it all that left is to pick it up when it's ready.
